What is Yoga Therapy (YT)?
Yoga therapy is a holistic approach to health and well-being that blends ancient yoga practices with modern medical and psychological insights to address a range of physical, mental, and emotional health concerns.
Yoga Therapy is a personalised practice. Here at Ocean Tree Yoga Studio, we perform a personalised assessment and goal setting to develop a specific practice to enable you to manage your overall wellbeing, recovery and/or rehabilitation.
Unlike other forms of yoga practice, YT may not involve traditional yoga postures if they are unsuitable for an individual based on our assessment. Instead, our approach may draw on other yogic practices including pranayama (breath and energy expansion techniques), meditation, dietary and lifestyle practices.

About our YT sessions Our Yoga Therapy sessions are typically run as a personalised one-to-one session.
During our initial consultation (approx. 1.5 hours), we will perform an analysis of the lifestyle, diet and physical factors contributing to any discomfort. This allows us to develop a personal programme with detailed instructions to best assist you. We deliver your programme as a part of your second consultation (approx. 1 hour). Included is a third session where we will discuss your progress and adjust or modify any practices . Before your 3rd session concludes, we offer you a deep guided relaxation (approx. 45 mins). We also offer on-going support as an optional add on. Please visit our Yoga Price List for payment information. |

What is Ayurveda?
Ayurveda is an ancient holistic healing system from India that aims to balance the body, mind, and spirit for optimal health and well-being. "Ayurveda" means "the science of life," its practices focus on maintaining harmony within the body's systems and within the world around us.
Well-being looks different for everyone. From an Ayurveda perspective, we each have a unique mind-body type known as a “dosha” – Vata, Pitta or Kapha. Each type has different qualities, tendencies and needs.
When we are familiar with our dosha, we can detect imbalances that might be negatively impacting our well-being.
Here at Ocean Tree Yoga Studio, we use Ayurveda in combination with our Yoga Therapy approach to assess your current state of health and develop an individualised program to restore balance and harmony to your body, mind and life.
